From the actuaries who help price our policies, to the agents who sell the policies, to the underwriters who work alongside the agents to lend their knowledge about risks, to the customer service representatives who answer client questions and the claims professionals who help at the time of a loss, there are many rewarding career opportunities in insurance. Insurance Careers Exploration Event

February is insurance careers month and the perfect time to show you why a career in insurance is something to consider. These sessions are designed for high school and college students but anyone who is interested in learning more about the insurance industry is welcome to attend. During the session, you will get an introduction to insurance, be able to work on case studies and look at examples of the work done by insurance professionals, look at all the career opportunities that exist within an insurance company, and we will also tell you why the grass really IS greener here at Farm Bureau Financial Services! Get Familiar and Explore

Our internship program holds an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks or working on projects within your hired work area. Another 10% of the time, you will be exposed to learning in other areas within your assigned division to get more corporate experience. The final 10% will be spent in shared experiences across the organization, where you will get to really learn about our culture and work environment.

Where and When Can I Apply?

While a majority of our positions are located in our home office in West Des Moines, IA, there are opportunities for students throughout our 8-state region. Some internships are only for the summer, others will last all year and we even have some co-op opportunities as well. No matter what timeframe you're looking for, we have an internship for you!
