McKennan Jones Hansen is a true daughter of the southern Utah pioneers. Her life has embodied the pioneer spirit of adventure and achievement. She attended SUU, the university for which her great-grandfather helped haul timber with horse teams and wagons. McKennan has been involved in various community projects. McKennan loves being involved in service projects from collecting a couple of friends to make apricot jam in her kitchen to organizing a BBQ and family activity event attended by over 200 people. Her greatest joy is in serving her two children, husband, extended family, this community. McKennan said, “I don’t believe I do anything special; I just get up and go and try to do the next right thing.”
